A little bit about the new game:
Skill Level: Beginner
Texturing Terrain: Gameplay is introduced by the height and cliff; good feel and look comes with the textures applied and formed in the terrain. A good map should have a gameplay; sometimes the selling factors are the textures applied. Often the aesthetics and the presentation of the video that you see of a mod or a map on You Tube catch your eyes and attract you; it is not the gameplay.
Manipulating Terrain – A new document is created once you get the editor running and now it’s time for the general layout of the map to be created. It is quite possible to start working on the scripting ai and customize units; it is recommended to start the mapping of the map’s layout.
Getting started – First you need to open the editor. It doesn’t exist in the game menus or start menu Starcraft2 mods is installed; just navigate t the folder and it should be next to Starcraft2.exe. Click right and save it on your desktop.
Basic controls: On the left hand side you will see a greenish plane with many objects. First bring the controls down. Use the scroll wheel of your mouse to zoom in and out; limitless zooming provides nice cinematic. You can change the altitude by holding alt+ right button on the mouse and move it forward and backward. Hold the right button on the mouse and move it in the desired direction to move across the map and arrow keys can be used. Move the mouse and hold ctrl+ right button on the mouse to change the angle of the camera.
Creating a new map: To create a map you need to go to File Tab and click New document. A dialog box appears. It depends on you if you want to make a map or a mod. Customized data is stored in mods used for modification of the game plays that uses mod.
Mod spotlight: Party craft:- It is a collection of mini games which allows many players to compete against each other. Starcraft2 mods is appealing because it is familiar game type, fun, challenging and fast placed.
Evolves classic – Starcraft2 mod and map supports evolve classics. Breakspirit supports the map and initiates new features and evolution.
Starcraft 2 mods contest: Blizzard holds a customized map making contest. The prizes include a paid trip to Blizzcon along with 5000$ and it will feature your map.
Announcer Sound: Blizzard also came up with the unique ability to play recorded sound by an announcer. With around 150 words, phrases and numbers the announcers sound will add a touch of professionalism to any custom map. The speaker is listed as Mod Utility Voice.
Mod Spotlight: Overrun: Rain game’s overrun is a base defense map; it has 4 players. The map is straightforward, easy and simple to play. It is a very logical game.
